Introduction
Pau was found in the ravine at Can Vila, to the right of the landfill. The truth is that this area had been researched by Crusafont and Villalta in the 1940s and 50s, when they made various discoveries. One of these took place in 1941 when they uncovered two teeth and identified what they thought was a new genus and species of hominid primate, the Sivapithecus occidentalis. Later studies, however, questioned the validity of this species.
