Introduction
Over 150 different species have been identified at all the sites located in Els Hostalets.
The most significant are species of primates that have only been found here, such as the Pierolapithecus catalauricus (Pau), the Pliopithecus canmatensis and the Anoiapithecus brevirostris (Lluc), and also the oldest representative of the giant panda found so far, a browsing horse with five toes, the Anchitherium nievei, and species of false sabre-toothed cats.
