The Cervera Fountain

Index card

Introduction

The Cervera Fountain lies at the western entrance to Prats de Rei, very close to the road leading to Calaf.

Near this spot, before 1934, Iberian remains were discovered: fragments of an amphora from the Catalan coast and even a Roman marble head, which, according to accounts, was lost shortly after being found.

Today, no visible trace remains. The surroundings have been urbanised and the original terrain levelled, but the fountain still reminds us of an ancient and mysterious past, hidden beneath stone and time.
