Introduction

In summer, these pastures are full of livestock/cattle. Mainly cows and horses, but also sheep. Livestock is one of the main economic resources and gives the human and social character to the territory.
When the winter cold arrives and the grasses grow older, the animals are driven to the valleys or move to lowlands to spend the winter. At their shelters, in winter, they eat the fermented herb or hay that has been dated in summer in the meadows.
These refuges served for the shepherds when they had to spend days near the herd and access to the pastures was not easy. Today they are no longer necessary.
Now, going down, you will pass next to a large cliff where the livestock kept before tacking it down to the valley or in case it is necessary to mark, vaccinate or do any treatment.
In Espinavell, on October 13th, the "Tria de Mulats" fair, a livestock fair that starts with the descent of the animals that have spent all summer in the mountains, to sell the foals or mulatos (kids the euggles).
