The beech tree forest

Index card

Introduction

This is the predominant forest in the most elevated and shady parts of the Collsacabra on fresh and rich soils. In this beech forest we highlight the proliferation of specimens of different feet as opposed to the scarcity of large specimens. This can indicate the utilization of this forest for charcoal.

In the past, its wood was used to make farming tools, carts, barrels, chairs and all kinds of boxes and sieves.

From its fruits, the beech trees, in northern Europe an oil was extracted for culinary uses and also for lighting.
Preparations are obtained from the bark to fight bronchitis, colds, pharyngitis, flu and excess cholesterol.
