Introduction
At El Bisbe fountain, go over El Bisbe bridge and continue along Sant Daniel street. This stretch goes past the 11th-century monastery of Sant Daniel, founded by Countess Ermessenda, and has housed Benedictine nuns for over one thousand years. The Romanesque church and cloister are the main architectural features of the building. The monastery conserves a major collection of books and scrolls dating from the 11th century.
