Introduction
The rock formations that we have to our right correspond to schistos of the "Jujols" formation. |
The mining activity in the Freser valleys in a recent past is well known and many of the materials exploited in these mines, such as iron oxides and carbonates (iron-making), estibina (obtaining antimony) and Arsenopyrite (obtaining gold, cobalt and nickel) appear in the area as joints fit into these schistos that we can observe. |
The schistos originate from clays or slits, which once exposed to moderate temperatures and pressures are transformed into the material that we are currently observing. |
