Introduction
Pine forest (Pinus pinea). Pine trees are adapted to sandy soils and marine environments. It is the pine that produces the biggest and edible pine nuts, reason why they are used gastronomically in “picades”, cakes and “panellets”. With a straight trunk and a globular and compact top, they also offer good shadow.
