Introduction

We find ourselves on one of the oldest paths of which there is written reference, popularly known as "the Roman path". It was busy and was used to link the coast and the inland part of Sant Grau d'Ardenya and Tossa de Mar. Although it really links the Roman towns of Sant Feliu and Tossa de Mar, it is considered to be from Mediaeval times. It must have been a busy path as there are sloping sections where you can see the slabs that make up the surface, avoiding erosion during rainy periods. WARNING. Now you have to take a difficult, complicated path up to the top of the Pico Gros. Follow the landmarks and white marks. You will find granite structures amongst holm oaks, heather and strawberry trees.
