Introduction
The route covers a large area of the Alt Empordà: it goes up to the north, by the plain, through agricultural landscapes and some villages until reaching the foothills of the Pyrenees, in the Albera Natural Park of National Interest.
There you will see the majestic Romanesque monastery of Sant Quirze de Colera, and the beautiful Castle of Requesens, perched on top of a mountain. You will make a rapid descent towards the plain and there will still be surprises on the way back, taking you through points of great interest such as Castelló d'Empúries

Tips
- Take care not to go too fast when descending from the Castle of Requesens as there are sharp turns along the dirt track and you can encounter vehicles coming in the opposite direction.
- In the urban centres follow the suggested route. Even if you are cycling, do not go along streets with exclusive access for residents.
- Leaving Peralada, you cross the Llobregat d'Empordà river. Be aware of the force of the water when it has rained, either on that day or those following.
