Introduction

We follow the white and green signs to the left of the rock.
The geological diversity in the headwaters of Ter and Freser is high. Formed by gneiss-type rocks 540 million years ago. Above these there are gres and lutites that have been transformed by metamorphism (variation of pressure and temperature) into the schists we see.
Among these schist and slates, it is easy to find intercated carbonate formations that, in some, by metamorphism have given rise to marbles. We also highlight quartz beams that form veins between schists and appear on the surface occasionally.
All of them, rocks of light or whitish color that contrasts strongly with the dominant gray.
